Community Heroes Making a Difference in Tucson

At United Real Estate Specialists, serving the community is more than a priority. It is part of the culture. Through the efforts of the office's Community Heroes Committee, agents and staff recently came together for a second quarter donation drive benefiting Impact of Southern Arizona.

One of United's core values is community service, which inspired the creation of the Community Heroes Committee several years ago.

"One of United's values and guiding principles is community service. Our Community Heroes Committee is composed of several agents and staff members who spearhead community giving and charitable efforts within our office. We love identifying local organizations that could use the most help," says Jennifer Cornelius.

Coming Together for a Cause

With a shared goal of helping local families, the team collected more than 400 canned goods and shelf-stable food items. The donations will help provide essential resources to individuals and families throughout the Tucson community.

What made the initiative especially meaningful was the collective effort behind it. Team members across the office participated, demonstrating the power of coming together for a common purpose.

"Feeding our neighbors is just one of the ways we love to reach out in our community," said Cornelius.

The drive also benefited from a creative and efficient donation process. After seeing success with a previous holiday drive, committee members utilized an Amazon Wish List to make donating easier for participants.

"With our Christmas drive, we realized that Amazon Wish Lists work wonders," Cornelius said. "One of our committee members, Alexis Bedoy, put together a wish list for our food drive with many items, most available in bulk, to purchase and have shipped directly to the office. It made the process very efficient, and we were able to collect a large number of items in a short amount of time."

Making an Impact

For United Real Estate Specialists, giving back is an important part of building stronger communities. The Community Heroes Committee regularly looks for opportunities to support local organizations and make a positive difference beyond real estate.

This quarter's partnership with Impact of Southern Arizona is a reflection of that commitment. By supporting families in need, the team is helping create a lasting impact where they live and work.

Looking ahead, the committee's efforts will continue. Cornelius shared that the next initiative will focus on assembling hygiene bags for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Leading Through Service

The success of the donation drive is a reminder that even small acts of generosity can make a big difference. Thanks to the dedication of agents and staff, more than 400 items were collected and donated to help those who need it most.

For Cornelius, each community project provides an opportunity to learn and build on past successes.

"Each time we give back to the community, we are able to learn from our experience and improve on how we can impact our community the most."

Through initiatives like this, United Real Estate Specialists continues to demonstrate that community service is at the heart of who they are. Together, they are helping build a stronger Tucson community, one act of kindness at a time.
